Jennifer Imamura received her BA in Biology from Harvard University, and her PhD in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management (ESPM) from the University of California, Berkeley (UCB). As a graduate student, she discovered her interest in teaching and shifted her focus from biology research to learning about inclusive pedagogy, curriculum development, and how to engage students in the classroom and improve their overall learning experience. Alongside working with undergraduates as a Graduate Student Instructor, she also held an NSF Graduate STEM Fellowship in K-12 Education (GK-12) to teach ecology and evolution to local 7th grade students. Jennifer later joined the Integrative Biology department at UCB as a postdoctoral scholar to develop and facilitate professional development workshops for biology faculty from UCB, Berkeley City College, and Cal State – East Bay.
