How Learning Works: Workshop Series for Winter 2025

We have revised the schedule and consolidated the 5 sessions into 4 sessions. The remaining dates of HLW will be the same, just with some combined topics.

Here are the new topics/dates:

• Monday, January 27th - Knowing Our Students: How does students' prior knowledge and knowledge organization affect their learning?
• Monday, February 10th - How Students Develop Mastery: What kinds of practice and feedback lead to mastery learning? Motivation: What factors motivate students to learn?
• Monday, February 24th -Motivation: What factors motivate students to learn?
• Monday, March 10th - Course Climate: How does the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual environment affect how well students learn? Creating Self-Directed Learners: How can we help students develop metacognitive strategies to identify and achieve their learning goals?

**All sessions will still take place from 1pm to 2:30pm in the CTLO Workshop Space. 

Please note: Those completing this series for the postdoc 5P Program will still receive full credit for attending all four of the revised sessions.
