Profile
Melissa Dabiri began her career in education teaching English at a local southern California public middle school. She enjoyed training and mentoring teachers who were just beginning their teaching journey, so pursued her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership. She accepted a lecturer position in the Graduate Education program at Azusa Pacific University, where she had the opportunity to teach, mentor, and evaluate new teachers in their student teaching roles.
In 2015, Melissa joined the Technical Communication Program in the School of Engineering at Stanford University. Her focus was teaching and coaching grad students and post docs on how to communicate their written and oral research findings as clearly and efficiently as possible.
At Caltech, she continues teaching the importance of scientific communication in the undergraduate course SEC10: Technical Seminar Presentations. Melissa is currently serving as the associate director of the CTLO, working with faculty on effective course design and best practices in university teaching.
Melissa received her M.A.Ed. and Ed.D. from Azusa Pacific University.
