Can STEM innovation be taught through the arts?

Can arts-based STEM innovation solve civic challenges?

The Art of Science Learning Project answers both questions: Yes!

Join PI and Director Harvey Seifter to hear how the Art of Science Learning's 28 cross-disciplinary art/science innovation teams are tackling issues from urban nutrition (Chicago) to water resources (San Diego) to transportation (Massachusetts).

Seifter's research into the the impacts of arts-based learning on creativity, collaboration, and innovation in STEM has implications for designing successful incubators in Universities, K-12 schools, research centers, corporations, non-profits, and more.

The Art of Science Learning Project is an NSF-funded initiative that uses the arts to spark creativity in science education and the development of an innovative 21st Century STEM workforce.

Open to all. A light lunch will be served, or BYO.

This public talk is brought to you by the Workgroup on Educational Science and Technology and the Caltech Center for Teaching, Learning, & Outreach.
