CTLO - Winter Faculty Lunch Series

Please join us every other Thursday this winter to discuss the pressing topics of teaching with faculty colleagues and CTLO staff. We'll share ideas and strategies to solve problems and transform teaching and learning at Caltech. These events are open to course instructors of any rank, including staff, post-docs, lecturers, and other faculty members.

Today's topic: Everyone Cheats: Why People Cheat and How to Prevent It
At some point in time everyone cheats to some extent. Why? Learn about the myriad factors influencing cheating in life and academic environments and how you can create an atmosphere that emphasizes ethical behavior and academic integrity over cheating and corner-cutting.

The next session's topics will be:

  • February 19, noon-1pm, Brennen Conference Room
Designing Exams That Work: Take-home, In-Person, or Oral Exams?
  • March 5, noon-1pm, Brennen Conference Room
Rethinking Assessment for the 21st Century: Project-Based Learning
