Caltech Project for Effective Teaching (CPET) Discussion Group

All graduate students and postdocs are welcome to attend the CPET Discussion Group where we would like to have an open and timely conversation about the value of higher education and the way it can shape the teaching strategies we use to create student buy-in in our classrooms. We will start the conversation with a recently published article in Science that reviews the performance of Massively Online Open Courses (MOOCs). Then using articles from The Chronicle of Higher Education and EdSurge as a reference, we will discuss the value we can bring to traditional in-classroom learning by comparison.
